Case Managed Services

Case Management Services and Supports are available to eligible job seekers who need more than self-directed job search support. Through one-on-one career planning, an experienced Case Manager will work with you to help you determine your employment goals and direct you to the tools and resources to get you there. 

Getting Started. Your first step is to visit the Self Service Resource Room to register with WorkBC. You will then participate in a short screening interview to determine which WorkBC services you are eligible for.

Services for Case Managed Clients

Case Management Services and Supports may be delivered at the WorkBC Centre or at another training location and include things like:

• Group workshops or individual sessions
• Employment Assessments
• Job Development
• Wage Subsidy
• Essential Skills Training
• Short-term Orientation & Certificate Training (STOC)
• Labour Market Skills Training
• Customized job placement and work experience placement services for clients with significant barriers to employment
• In some cases, financial supports are available for eligible clients.

Disability Services

Our specialized Case Managers will help you explore suitable work opportunities based on your individual needs. Together you will identify the job duties, workplace environment, work schedule and supports and job search tools you need to be successful. When you find employment, we can provide job coaching support to help you transition to work and explore the need for technical aids, adaptive equipment or other retention supports.

Single Parent Employment Initiative

Single parents receiving income or disability assistance may be eligible for training and support through WorkBC to secure long-term employment. The Single Parent Employment Initiative (SPEI) has changed the lives of many British Columbians by lifting single parent families into financial security through training and employment supports. An apprentice is an individual who is registered in an Industry Training Authority (ITA) approved training program. Apprentices who meet Employment Insurance (EI) eligibility requirements are eligible for financial supports through the program while participating in the classroom technical training component.

If you are not attached to an employer or other sponsor and you want to access apprenticeship training, or if you have lost your employer sponsorship due to lay-off, you may be considered for apprentice services through WorkBC.  Visit our Self Service Resource Room where an Advisor will assess your need and eligibility for Apprenticeship Services. If you are eligible, you will work with a Case Manager to complete the application process.

Self Employment Program

WorkBC Maple Ridge provides access to self-employment services including orientation, assessment and training. The objective of these services is to help you create a job for yourself and to become self-sufficient after starting a business. Talk to your Case Manager if you are interested in becoming self-employed.


Case managed clients can participate in a variety of workshops to build employability skills.  Talk to your Case Manager for the workshops best suited to your employment plan. Visit here for a list of current workshops.
